Nick Rapaz is a portrait photographer based out of New York City. Nick was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He completed his undergraduate studies in Acting and Dance, and went on to earn his Actor's Equity card in 2002. That same year, he decided to make the transition into photography, pursuing a growing love of studying and capturing character instead of recreating it.
Nick moved to NYC in 2007 to take a job as 1st assistant to Platon. In the time since he has been fortunate to work with many great photographers. Most recently Nick spent three years as 1st assistant to the legendary photographer Ruven Afanador. In 2014, Nick left Afanador to pursue his own photographic career. His work has appeared in Relapse Magazine, The New Yorker Online, and The Sunday Times UK, as well as gallery shows in New York and Minneapolis.
